Raised in the salon
I come from a hairdressing family. I never stood behind the chair myself – my side was the other one: appointments, marketing, offers, staff. Everything that keeps the place running while the cutting happens out front.
That is why I don't know the day-to-day from other people's stories: the packed Saturday, the quiet Tuesday morning – and the call at a quarter to three that takes away an appointment you still counted on that morning. The appointment book was my responsibility. So the gap in it was my problem too.
The call at a quarter to three
What happens next, I did myself. You go through the client list, call four people, reach two, and in the end the slot stays empty anyway. Not because nobody wanted it, but because nobody heard about it in time.
That is exactly where Beauty4You comes in: when a client cancels, the freed-up slot goes straight out to your clients. Whoever accepts first gets it. Without you picking up the phone.
No salon directory, no commission
There are enough platforms that line salons up next to each other and take a cut of every appointment. I wanted the opposite: an app that belongs to you and your clients. No public listing where the shop two streets away sits right beside you and your clients start comparing. No commission per appointment, no revenue share. One subscription, that is all.
Why I built it
I am an app developer. Beauty4You was not built to order, it came out of the problems I ran into in the salon myself. The idea was an app for businesses – one that covers the owner’s back: with appointments, with short-notice cancellations, and with reaching their own clients.
Good months, bad months
Every business knows it: not every month runs the same. And it is precisely in the weak months that there is no money for an ad or for the discount sign in the window – exactly when you would need it most.
With Beauty4You a promotion costs nothing extra. You write it once and it lands on every one of your clients’ phones in real time. As often as you like, whenever you like. No budget, no lead time, no agency.
The app is still developed and maintained by me, here in Bochum.
